The legend

A world we carried into glass

Ancient chronicles mention a mythical planet called Boro: a world inhabited by glass creatures that shone with soft light and fed on the energy hidden in the planet's very core.

The chronicles say that one day the core began to fall asleep and the light withdrew into the deep. What remains of that age are records, sketches and glass fragments in which the shape of a creature remembers itself. In the flame of our workshop those fragments grow anew: the glass recalls its shape, the gas recalls its light. That is why every creature is born one of one: the memory of a shape cannot be repeated.

They no longer have a planet of their own, so their planet becomes the homes where they settle. Each such home becomes a new hearth of Boro, and its owner becomes a Keeper. Below: the Bureau's field notes on the known species, and the creatures looking for their hearth right now.

Each lot grew in the flame exactly once, and there will be no second one: the memory of a shape cannot be replicated. Click a card to read the Bureau's field note, and choose the creature whose light will start your hearth.

Anatomy

A creature and its pot

No magic in the upkeep: all the magic is inside the glass. Four things worth knowing about how it works.

Glass part in a torch flame

Glass grown in flame

Every branch is blown and drawn by hand. The shape is born in fire and never repeats: these creatures have no molds and no “product line”.

Glass creature unpowered

Noble gases inside

The vessel holds a sealed blend of inert gases: the same ones present in the air we breathe. A high-frequency field makes it glow. The gas is not consumed and will not escape even in a hundred years.

The glass part of a lamp held in hands

Detachable magnetic pot

The base is a pot with a built-in power supply and a magnetic mount. The glass part “repots” in seconds: it travels separately, and if either part ever fails we replace just that part.

The lamp in an interior

Feeds from a socket

An ordinary 220 V outlet. Plug it in and forget: there is nothing to burn out, and the service life is unlimited.

Living light

It notices you

This is not a bulb behind a frosted shade. A real gas discharge runs inside the branches: the light flickers, breathes and responds to a touch on the glass.

That is why people quickly stop treating these creatures like appliances. They get placed by the bedside, introduced to guests and left on through the night instead of a nightlight.

The workshop

Born in flame

The creatures come to life in a workshop in Petrozavodsk, Russia. Glass melts at a thousand degrees, branch after branch grows in the maker's hands; then the vessel is evacuated, filled with gas and sealed forever.

“For several years now, glass lamps have been my life's work. I have put a great deal of time, effort and all of my soul into giving you a chance to touch the magic too.”

Dreams of Boro

When reality is not enough, new worlds are born. Here our creations come alive again: they return to where they came from and carry on their fairy-tale lives.

Delivery and warranty

Fragile? Yes. Defenceless? No.

Arrives intact

The glass part detaches from the pot and travels in its own wooden crate. Delivery anywhere in Russia is on us; for other countries, message us and we will confirm options and cost. If a lamp does get hurt on the way, we ship a new one the same day.

Lifetime warranty

If the pot fails, we immediately send a new one and you “repot” the creature in seconds. If the glass part breaks, we repair or replace it: either way it costs less than a new lamp.

A changeable look

The mount is universal: any other glass part fits the same pot. A new colour and shape, without buying a whole new lamp.

Questions and answers

Asked most often

These lamps are a rare and unusual thing, so we answer the most obvious questions up front.

How safe are the lamps?

Exactly as safe as any other glass lamp. The vessel contains inert gases, each of which is present in the atmosphere we breathe. If the seal were ever accidentally broken, nobody would notice a thing.

What is the service life?

It is unlimited: there is nothing in the lamp to burn out, and the gas cannot escape the sealed glass vessel even in a hundred years.

What if the lamp breaks?

If that misfortune does happen, the lamp can always be sent in for repair. Cost and timing are discussed case by case, and it is cheaper than a new lamp in any event. The main advice: place the lamp where neither you, nor children, nor pets can knock it over. Plug it in and forget it.

Who guarantees it survives the trip?

We take full responsibility for the lamp until it reaches you. The glass part travels separately from the pot in a wooden crate of our own making: so far this packaging has kept every single lamp intact. If one does break in transit, we ship a new one the same day.

Can I change the colour or shape later?

Yes. The mount of the glass part is universal, so any other creature fits your pot. Just order the glass part alone, without paying for a whole new lamp.

Is it a ready-made gift?

Because every piece is one of a kind, the creatures often do leave as gifts. And if you would rather let the person choose, there is a gift certificate for any amount.
